Paying off your Spruce Grove Hyundai car loan

Start pre-approval
Paying off your loan early

Most banks let you pay off what you owe after some time has passed, and for most banks, that time is six months. Ask your bank or us how if this is possible.

Changes to payments

Almost all lenders let customers make lump-sum payments or increase their regular payments. Contact us or your lender for details.

Extending a loan term

Once your loan is in place, most lenders won’t extend the financial agreement. Check with Spruce Grove Hyundai’s finance specialists or your lender to find out if an extension is possible.

Car loan insurance

We all know about car insurance, but did you know you can insure your car loan, too? How would you make your regular payments if you lost your job or became ill? Insurance can protect you. Ask Spruce Grove Hyundai about this kind of insurance.

Affordable financing

If you have a low income, we have a solution for your auto needs! Earning $1,800 a month or more can mean you can borrow for a car.

Switching a loan to another vehicle

Want to change vehicles but have a car loan? We can help. We’ll help you select your next car, pay off what you owe, and add any outstanding amount to your new agreement.

What documents should I bring to my finance appointment?

Here are the documents you need to bring to the meeting with our Finance experts. They are a void cheque, valid driver’s license, and your most recent pay slip. We’ll let you know if we need anything else.

Will I be approved for a car loan?

Hundreds of Spruce Grove Hyundai customers get leases and loans every month. Things that might affect your approval include: the make, model, and age of the car you want to buy or lease, your age, credit history, income level, and employment history.

How will my car payments be calculated?

How much you borrow, the length of your loan term, and the interest rate are part of your payment. Rest assured that our rates are competitive. We have relationships with Canada’s largest banks to get you the best loan terms

How do I budget for car loan payments?

Most people don’t spend more than around 15% of their gross monthly income on their car payment. If, for example, you make $2000 a month, your car payments should be around $450 a month.

What is a credit score?

A credit score is anywhere between 300 and 900. A high number means an excellent credit rating. A low number is a poor credit rating. A credit score represents a person’s credit risk – low or high. It also affects how much interest is charged on a loan. Your credit rating is just one piece of information we look at before approving a loan.

How is my credit score calculated?

Here's how a credit score is calculated:

  • Paying bills by the due date
  • Your current debt level
  • Any public records, such as liens or judgements
  • How many hard credit score requests have been made in someone’s name.

Should I finance or lease?

Leasing or financing are both good options. The one you go with will depend on your budget, lifestyle, and future plans. We also have our “Finance vs lease: which is better?” page for some useful considerations, too. You can also set up a meeting with our Finance team and they’ll help you make the right decision

Can I qualify for financing on my first vehicle?

Definitely, you can qualify for financing with Spruce Grove Hyundai. Set up an appointment with us and we’ll go through the options.

Is it okay to pay your car payment 3 days late?

If your car loan payments are late, look at your loan contract to see how the lender defines late and what penalty there is. Sometimes, a payment that is three days late will just result in a reminder phone call. But it could mean you have to pay a penalty.

Can I defer my car payment?

You can’t usually defer your car loan payment. Sometimes you can extend the term of your loan. Contact us or your bank to discuss loan payment options.
